Ingredients:

- 1 cup (240ml) milk

For the Pudding Filling:
- 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups (480ml) cold milk
For the Berry Compote:
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries), fresh or frozen
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the Frosting:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Purple food coloring (gel or liquid)
For Decoration:
- Gold sprinkles
- Fondant or candy basketballs (optional)
- Lakers logo cutout (printed on edible paper or cardstock)
Instructions:
Cake:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in milk and vanilla extract.

- Let the compote cool completely.
Frosting:
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating on low speed until combined.
- Add the milk and vanilla extract, and beat on medium speed until light and fluffy.
- Tint the frosting with purple food coloring.
Assembly:
- Once the cakes are completely cooled, level the tops with a serrated knife if necessary.
